背景
The protein encoded by this gene is a Golgi type II transmembrane glycosyltransferase. The
encoded protein catalyzes the transfer of sialic acid to cell surface proteins to modulate cellcell interactions. Several transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for
this gene.
